Location

Duties

  • Manage all aspects of medical malpractice litigation from case intake through trial

  • Conduct discovery, take and defend depositions, and handle motion practice

  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and memoranda of law

  • Collaborate with medical experts to evaluate claims and build defense strategies

  • Attend and participate in pretrial conferences, hearings, and trials

  • Assist in preparing appeal briefs and oral argument strategies

  • Advise and prepare clients and witnesses for depositions and trial testimony

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience

  • Prior experience with medical malpractice or healthcare-related litigation strongly preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to manage a litigation caseload independently

  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills

  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines under pressure

  • High degree of professionalism and client service orientation

Education

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an ABA-accredited law school

  • Strong academic credentials preferred

Certifications

  • Active member of the Virginia State Bar in good standing

  • Must meet continuing legal education (CLE) requirements throughout employment

Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel

  • Skilled in legal research and drafting persuasive legal documents

  • Ability to analyze complex medical records and legal issues

  • Collaborative team player who also excels independently
