Duties

• Draft ordinances, resolutions, and other municipal legal documents

• Advise clients on compliance with open meeting laws, land use, planning, and election law

• Provide legal counsel on conflicts of interest, free speech, public safety, and governance issues

• Represent public agency clients at meetings and hearings

• Offer day-to-day legal advice and support to local government bodies

• Research and interpret laws and regulations impacting public agencies

• Collaborate with colleagues across practice areas to deliver comprehensive legal solutions

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of municipal transactional law experience

• Experience advising public entities and attending public meetings required

• Familiarity with local government procedures and agency representation

• Strong drafting and analytical capabilities

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in the State of California

Skills

• Excellent legal writing and verbal communication skills

• Strong knowledge of California municipal and administrative law
