Job Responsibilities:
As a Tax Director specializing in Private Companies, the role involves working as part of a team to address complex business issues ranging from strategy to execution. The responsibilities include supporting the team in evolving ways of working, arranging and sponsoring assignments to help individuals realize their potential, and identifying market gaps to create value propositions. The role also involves looking for opportunities to improve efficiencies, creating environments where people and technology collaborate effectively, promoting diversity, developing strong connections with stakeholders, and facilitating long-term relationships that add value to the company. Upholding the firm's code of ethics and business conduct is a critical aspect of this role. The Tax Director is also expected to lead as a tax advisor by providing innovative solutions, adopting a practical approach to the needs of private companies, and leveraging technical knowledge and industry insights to address client needs.
Education and Experience Information:
The minimum educational requirement for this position is a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. Candidates must have a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience. Required certifications include CPA, Member of the Bar, or other tax, technology, or finance-specific credentials. Preferred skills and knowledge include a deep understanding of tax compliance and consulting for various entities such as corporations, partnerships, and pass-through entities, technical prowess with ASC740, and the ability to identify and address client needs while sustaining client relationships. Skills in networking, negotiation, persuasion, and the ability to prepare and present complex materials are also preferred. The role requires defining resource requirements, managing project workflow, budgets, billing, and collection, leading teams to establish direction, creating an atmosphere of trust, leveraging diverse views, coaching staff, and encouraging innovation.
Salary Information:
The salary range for the Tax Director - Private Companies position is $140,900 - $434,000, with eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation within this range will depend on the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and applicable employment laws. The position requires up to 20% travel and is available in various locations across the United States.
