Duties

  • Provide counsel on labor and employment law matters for public school districts and agencies
  • Draft and review employment contracts, policies, and procedures
  • Advise on collective bargaining, contract grievances, and dispute resolution
  • Handle cases involving discrimination, retaliation, and employee misconduct
  • Guide clients through layoffs, disciplinary actions, and dismissals
  • Conduct legal research and prepare documentation to support cases
  • Collaborate with clients to assess needs and develop legal strategies

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Active membership in the State Bar of California and in good standing
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in employment law, with a preference for public agency or education law
  • Proficiency in legal research, writing, and analysis
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to serving educational institutions and public agencies

Education

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited institution

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in California

Skills

  • Expertise in labor and employment law within public sector contexts
