Tax Senior - Real Estate
Job Responsibilities:
As a Senior Tax Consultant, you will engage in a variety of tasks aimed at delivering tax compliance and consulting services to investment management clients. Your responsibilities will include:
- Performing detailed reviews of partnership work papers, allocations, and tax returns.
- Preparing materials and conducting research for consulting projects related to tax planning opportunities.
- Coordinating and communicating with client contacts to gather necessary information for tax returns.
- Training, mentoring, and supervising new and experienced-level tax staff.
- Attending required trainings provided by the company and sector-specific programs.
- Identifying complex tax issues and providing tax analysis for various entities and affiliates.
Education and Experience Information:
Required:
- Ability to work within a hybrid model, co-locating in person 2-3 days per week.
- Over 3 years of experience providing tax planning services or preparing client work papers and income tax returns.
- A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or another business-related field.
- Basic understanding of Subchapter K, partnership allocation methodologies, and the tax compliance process for real estate funds.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, team environment.
- Ability to travel up to 25% on average, depending on the work, clients, and industries/sectors served.
- One of the following active accreditations obtained, in process, or willing to obtain:
- Licensed CPA in the state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA.
- If not CPA eligible:
- Licensed attorney.
- Enrolled Agent.
- Certifications:
- Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA).
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP).
Preferred:
- Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM.
- Experience working in a virtual and/or global environment.
- Passion for leveraging technology and exploring new technology solutions.
- Experience with accounting for income taxes in accordance with ASC740.
- Previous experience with a Big 4 or large CPA firm.
- Excellent research and writing skills.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
Salary Information:
The wage range for this role reflects the consideration of various factors, including skill sets, experience, training, licensure, and certifications, among others. The estimated compensation range is $66,570 to $151,580. Compensation decisions are based on individual circumstances and are not typically at the top of the range. Additionally, there may be eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the program's rules and performance factors.
