**Job Title:**
Tax Senior
**Job Responsibilities:**
As a Tax Senior within the Tax-Exempt practice, your role will primarily involve providing tax compliance and consulting services to non-profit clients. This includes working with organizations such as health care providers, private foundations, public charities, higher educational institutions, and other non-profit entities. Your responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining and developing strong client relationships on various federal tax consulting and compliance engagements.
- Advising clients on a range of tax issues including tax compliance, business restructuring, exemption strategies, philanthropic and charitable giving planning, and tax controversy.
- Overseeing federal tax compliance and consulting projects, which require tax analysis for various entities and their affiliates.
- Managing the tax engagement team and having access to a group of specialists as needed.
- Interacting and collaborating with like-minded Tax-Exempt specialists from across the country.
**Education and Experience Information:**
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or another business-related field is required.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in federal taxation is required, with a strong emphasis on tax-exempt organizations (501(c)(3)s and 501(c)(4)s), including experience with health care providers, health plans, private foundations, and other community organizations.
- One of the following active accreditations is required, obtained, in process, or willing/able to obtain:
- Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA
- If not CPA eligible:
- Licensed Attorney
- Enrolled Agent
- Certifications:
- Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA)
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP)
- Preferred qualifications include an advanced degree such as a Master's of Tax, JD, and/or LLM.
- Previous experience with a Big 4 or large CPA firm is preferred.
- Solid understanding and experience with federal tax compliance, tax analysis, and tax research.
- Solid understanding of mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring specific to tax-exempt organizations.
- Excellent research, writing, presentation, and communication skills.
- Strong management and analytical skills.
- Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2 – 3 days per week.
- Ability to travel up to 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
**Salary Information:**
The wage range for this role is between $66,570 to $151,580. This range takes into account various factors including skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, as compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Additionally, there may be eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, where an award depends on various factors including individual and organizational performance.
