Are you a talented attorney with a passion for the clean energy industry? Holland & Hart, a leading law firm, is looking for a Renewable Energy Project Development & Finance Associate with at least 3 years of experience to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on innovative wind, solar, geothermal, hydrogen, and battery storage projects across the country. We are committed to making a positive impact on the environment and our clients, and we need dedicated professionals like you to help us achieve our goals.
Our History and Values
Holland & Hart has been at the forefront of renewable energy development and finance for nearly two decades. Our team of experienced lawyers has built a strong and loyal client base, and we continue to push the boundaries of renewable, sustainable, and green projects, technologies, and services. We also work with conventional energy producers as they transition from fossil fuels to clean energy sources.
Why Work with Us?
At Holland & Hart, we prioritize the well-being and flexibility of our employees. You can choose to work remotely, in a hybrid model, or in the office, and we offer flexible hours to help you balance your personal and professional commitments. We also value diversity and are proud to have 83% of our partners and 66% of our team members be women. When you join our team, you can expect:
- The opportunity to work with clients at the forefront of the clean energy industry on first-rate projects from Alaska to New York.
- A young, dynamic team of lawyers who have built an impressive and loyal client base over the past decade.
- Hands-on experience and ownership of work from day one - you will work directly with clients.
- Real mentorship and training from experienced partners who are invested in your professional growth.
- A three-tiered career progression approach designed to prepare you for partnership if that is your goal.
- Frequent feedback and clearly defined core competencies and benchmarks to help you excel in your role.
Position Requirements
Ideal candidates for this role will have at least three years of law firm experience in project development, finance, mergers & acquisitions, and commercial contracts. While experience in the renewable energy industry and with power purchase agreements, company or asset purchase and sale agreements, hedge contacts, equipment supply contracts, construction contracts, or similar agreements is preferred, it is not required. We are looking for team-oriented individuals with strong written and oral communication skills.
Compensation and Expectations
At Holland & Hart, we believe in merit-based compensation. Your individual performance and achievements will be evaluated when determining your salary. As required by the Colorado Equal Pay Act, our good faith salary range for this position (if based in Colorado) is $200,000 - $255,000. We also offer a generous bonus program and fee splits for associates who contribute financially and work hard. Our expectation is that associates invest 1800 hours on billable matters, 75 hours of pro bono/public service work (or 50 hours of pro bono legal work), and at least 25 hours dedicated to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion are Core Values at Holland & Hart
We have been early trailblazers in DEI initiatives and recognize the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion in our business success. These values are integrated into our strategic initiatives and we continually strive to create a culture of inclusion and acceptance. We also offer a range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, EAP, STD, and LTD insurance, as well as a 401(k)-retirement plan with a company match. We also promote work/life balance with a wellness program, unlimited PTO, a reduced time program, and a sabbatical program for eligible employees and partners.
