Job Title: Law Fellow
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop legal expertise in housing, labor and employment, environmental justice, education, and health.
- Implement CRLA’s statewide approach to ensure that local districts meet obligations for equal access to low-income, English Learner, and foster students.
- Create and execute a community education and outreach strategy.
- Develop local leadership and monitor school districts and county offices of education.
- File administrative complaints and engage in possible regulatory proceedings.
- Participate in ongoing impact litigation challenging state and local failures to comply with statutory and state constitutional mandates for equal educational opportunity.
Education and Experience Information:
- Open to rising or current third-year law students and recent law graduates.
- Applicants should demonstrate a strong commitment to working with rural Californians and addressing primary issues affecting their lives.

Additional Information:
- Fellowships are offered through external law foundation or law school fellowship programs, as well as the organization’s own Rural Justice Fellowship program.
- The organization has hosted or sponsored Equal Justice Works and Berkeley Law Foundation fellows.
- Applicants are encouraged to identify postgraduate fellowships available to them and discuss proposed projects with the organization’s Director of Pro Bono and Strategic Initiatives.
