A law firm is seeking a dedicated Auto/General Liability Associate Attorney to join their South Jordan office. The ideal candidate will have 1-5 years of experience in civil litigation and insurance defense, with a strong desire to provide exceptional client service. The role requires a proactive, highly motivated attorney with excellent academic credentials and a solid understanding of civil litigation. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic legal environment, with a focus on auto and general liability cases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle a variety of auto and general liability cases from inception to resolution.
  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Manage all aspects of discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests, disclosures, and conducting depositions.
  • Participate in court appearances, including arguing motions and attending hearings.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to develop case strategies and litigation plans.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates and discussing case progress.
  • Prepare and present cases effectively in court, including trials and settlement negotiations.
  • Work closely with insurance companies and adjusters to manage cases and achieve favorable outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal procedures and deadlines.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 1-5 years of experience in civil litigation and insurance defense.
  • Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Bar Admission: Active member in good standing with the Utah State Bar.
  • Litigation Skills: Experience with discovery, disclosures, taking and defending depositions, drafting and arguing motions, and making court appearances.
