Job Title:
Financial Services Tax - Real Estate Manager

Job Responsibilities:
A career in the Financial Services Tax practice within Corporate Tax services at the company offers an opportunity to assist clients in meeting their tax obligations while managing the impact of tax on their business. As a Manager, the role involves advising clients on local and overseas tax affairs, acting as a strategic consultant for business analysis, managing working capital, and profit sharing for partners. The responsibilities include helping organizations understand the pricing implications of goods and services between related parties and providing advice on the tax implications of deals. The candidate will assist Financial Services clients in navigating the frequently changing and complex national and international tax environment related to stringent capital requirements, management of operational tax risks, and tax implications of investing in different jurisdictions. The role requires helping clients with their tax structuring and addressing the challenges of the continuously changing tax world, both locally and globally.

The manager will work as part of a team of problem solvers, addressing complex business issues from strategy to execution. The responsibilities include developing new skills outside of the comfort zone, resolving issues which prevent the team from working effectively, coaching others, recognizing their strengths, and encouraging them to take ownership of their personal development. The role involves analyzing complex ideas or proposals and building a range of meaningful recommendations, using multiple sources of information including broader stakeholder views to develop solutions and recommendations, addressing sub-standard work or work that does not meet the firm's/client's expectations, and using data and insights to inform conclusions and support decision-making. The manager will develop a point of view on key global trends and how they impact clients, manage a variety of viewpoints to build consensus and create positive outcomes for all parties, simplify complex messages, highlighting and summarizing key points, and uphold the firm's code of ethics and business conduct.

The role also involves leading the way as technology-enabled tax advisors who provide value through digitization, automation, and increased efficiencies, made possible by equipping professionals to succeed in a world where transactions are faster, more complicated, and require a deeper level of sophistication. The company provides unparalleled technical knowledge and specialization, industry insights, and the One Firm knowledge that brings everything the company offers to solve clients’ needs.

Education and Experience Information:
Basic Qualifications include a Bachelor Degree in Accounting and a minimum of 4 years of experience. Certification as a CPA, Member of the Bar, or other tax, technology, or finance-specific credentials may qualify for this opportunity.

Preferred Qualifications include thorough knowledge of tax compliance methods, strategy consulting for Real Estate Investment Trusts and Real Estate Partnerships, and considerable knowledge of partnership structures and their impact on real estate transactions and corresponding tax liabilities. The role requires comprehensive technical skills, including providing full services to real estate owners, developers, and investors, including publicly traded REITS, institutional real estate funds managed by financial institutions, and privately held real estate entities. The candidate should have considerable experience in identifying and addressing client needs, building, maintaining, and utilizing networks of client relationships and community involvement, communicating value propositions, managing resource requirements, project workflow, budgets, billing and collections, and preparing and/or coordinating complex written and verbal materials. The candidate should also have considerable experience as a team leader: supervising teams to create an atmosphere of trust, seeking diverse views to encourage improvement and innovation, and coaching staff including providing timely meaningful written and verbal feedback.

The candidate should demonstrate success as a tax technical business advisor, including developing new relationships, making introductions to sell new services, and doing so with a "One Firm" service mindset. Preferred familiarity with a CRM system is desired.

The candidate should demonstrate knowledge of automation and digitization in a professional services environment, including but not limited to innovating through new and existing technologies, experimenting with digitization solutions, working with large, complex data sets to build models and leverage data visualization tools to provide insights to clients, and utilizing digitization tools to reduce hours and optimize engagements. Knowledge of alternative fee arrangements, including the use of pricing tools, to provide a point of view on pricing strategies is also desired.
