Job Title: Senior Associate, Tax Consulting (Transaction Implementation)
Job Responsibilities:
As a Senior Associate within the company's Tax Federal Tax practice, the key responsibilities include:
- Analyzing and processing various datasets and documents such as tax returns, legal entity organizational charts, financial statements, and purchase and sale agreements to develop tax deliverables.
- Assisting with the design and implementation of business reorganizations, legal entity rationalizations, and business transactions by developing workplans, monitoring action items, drafting follow-up notes, preparing or reviewing tax calculations and filings, and reviewing legal documentation.
- Documenting facts, assumptions, and tax implications surrounding tax planning, restructuring, or rationalization in memorandums, Excel notes, emails, or PowerPoint presentations.
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary and multijurisdictional team to prepare and initially review various deliverables.
- Mentoring Associates and Interns by delegating appropriate tasks and ensuring efficient task completion.
- Monitoring the status of assigned tasks and communicating progress to the project team.
- Conducting and reviewing research and analysis of tax issues related to federal corporate tax, business transactions, reorganizations, restructuring, and tax implications of financing techniques.
- Assisting with tax compliance tasks including tax provision, extension, and tax return preparation and review.
- Interfacing with clients to gather information and deliver high-quality work on time and within budget.
- Networking internally and with clients to enhance relationships and identify opportunities to add value.
- Assisting with business development by creating resources and proposal materials.
Education and Experience Information:
- A Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.
- Candidates should have 2+ years of relevant experience in federal taxation and/or corporate tax consulting.
- CPA or Licensed Attorney credentials are preferred, or candidates should be in the process of pursuing these credentials.
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint is necessary.
- Strong communication, writing, and presentation skills are important, along with the ability to articulate complex information simply.
- Strong analytical and research skills and the ability to apply tax concepts effectively to client situations are required.
- Candidates should be detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
- Business development skills and a proactive, positive attitude are also important.
- High motivation to learn and grow, and the ability to work in a dynamic, time-sensitive environment on multiple projects are essential.
Salary Information:
The salary range for this position is $85,000 to $105,000 annually. This is dependent on several factors including education, experience, skills, and geography. Additionally, the company offers a discretionary bonus program based on individual and firm performance.
