Job Overview:
A law firm seeks a skilled and motivated Associate Attorney to join its legal team in Anchorage, Alaska. Duties:

  • Develop and implement case strategies in collaboration with attorneys, paralegals, clients, and support staff.
  • Manage complex and high-asset family law cases, including preparing for depositions, drafting and reviewing legal documents, and generating status reports.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with clients to provide updates on case progress and strategies.
  • Conduct weekly audits with the legal team to ensure case accuracy and progress.
  • Organize and manage case files, monitor deadlines, and maintain case records using legal management software.
  • Research case law and other legal references to support case preparation.
  • Collaborate on additional legal responsibilities and firm-wide initiatives as needed.

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of experience in family law (preferred).
  • Ability to handle high-pressure deadlines and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to liaise with clients and legal teams.
  • Flexibility and openness to learning or contributing to other areas of law.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Alaska Bar or eligibility for reciprocity.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in case management and legal research software.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Effective legal drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
