Tax Senior - Federal / Corporate Tax
Job Responsibilities:
As a Tax Senior Consultant within the Business Tax Services group, you will be an integral member of tax engagement teams, contributing to a variety of tax services pertinent to both public and private companies. Your responsibilities will include:
- Performing detailed technical reviews of partnership, corporate, and individual federal tax returns and assessing all related work papers.
- Coordinating with clients' tax and finance departments for tax planning and compliance data collection.
- Conducting detailed reviews of income tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740.
- Researching federal tax legislation to understand its impact on compliance and consulting.
- Assisting with various tax consulting projects, including research and writing related to federal tax planning, restructuring, controversy, and accounting for income taxes.
- Managing engagement workflows and supervising tax consultants and interns on assigned engagements.
Education and Experience Information:
Required:
- Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model, requiring US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2 – 3 days per week.
- Ability to travel up to 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Over 3 years of experience in federal taxation.
- Experience in the preparation and review of federal tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and individuals.
- One of the following active accreditations obtained, in process, or willing and able to obtain:
- Licensed CPA in the state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA.
- If not CPA eligible:
- Licensed Attorney.
- Enrolled Agent.
- Certifications:
- Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA).
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP).
Preferred:
- Advanced degree such as a Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM.
- Experience working in a virtual and/or global environment.
- Passion for leveraging technology and exploring new technology solutions.
- Experience with accounting for income taxes in accordance with ASC740.
- Previous Big 4 or large CPA firm experience.
- Excellent research and writing skills.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
Salary Information:
The wage range for this role considers various factors, including skill sets, experience, training, licensure, and certifications, along with business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the geographic differential associated with the position's location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range, and compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $66,570 to $151,580.
Additionally, you may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, with awards dependent on individual and organizational performance.
