Goals of the Internship Program

1. Provide real-world litigation experience

Interns are given projects and assignments immediately upon starting the program, allowing them to gain valuable work experience and skills that can transfer to various areas of legal practice. Projects may include writing trial and appellate briefs, conducting interviews, researching questions of law, and appearing in court proceedings and depositions (under supervision).

2. Secure future employment

The Office uses the internship program as a way to identify and hire the best and brightest students for full-time positions upon graduation. Students who have previously interned at the Office may be offered a full-time position after graduation and admission to the Missouri Bar.

3. Train the next generation

Mentorship is highly valued at the Office, and each intern is assigned a supervising attorney who serves as a mentor and main point of .
