- Defense Counsel (Cleveland County) position available at the **Members Only** (OIDS)
- Full-time, regular position with salary commensurate with qualifications and within agency salary schedule
- Provide legal representation in non-capital cases for indigent clients throughout the State of Oklahoma (excluding Oklahoma and Tulsa counties)
- Represent clients in state court at the trial level in felony, misdemeanor, juvenile delinquency, traffic and wildlife cases
- Conduct independent and expeditious investigations relating to the client's guilt or innocence and potential sentences
- Prepare for trial by filing pretrial motions, developing plea negotiation strategy, securing assistance from experts, and formulating a defense theory
- Serve as Co-Counsel as assigned
- Provide consultation, advice, assistance, and support to other attorneys and staff
- Applicants should possess a Juris Doctorate degree and active membership and good standing with the State Bar of Oklahoma, or eligibility for admission
- Must abide by the Oklahoma Rules of Professional Conduct
