Job Title: Associate Attorney - California (Remote)

Job Responsibilities:

- Provide legal representation to individuals experiencing debt problems.
- Analyze client circumstances, review relevant documents, and provide clients with options.
- Represent individual clients in court, review and respond to pleadings, and appear at hearings and/or trials as required.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, ensuring regular updates on their cases.
- Supervise the collection of necessary client documents.
- Perform and oversee all settlement negotiations, analyzing settlement percentage trends and modifying strategies accordingly.
- Address post-settlement issues as they arise.
- Manage a small team of support staff, including a legal assistant and a paralegal.
- Identify unfair debt collecting practices and file claims in response.
- Perform other duties as required and assigned.

Education and Experience Information:

- Preferably 3+ years of litigation experience.
- Must be licensed in California, with an additional state license preferred.
- Must be in good standing in all states of licensure.
- Juris Doctor degree with significant communication and management skills.
- Superior analytic skills and computer proficiency are essential.
- Must pass a criminal background check.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

- The role includes supervising legal support staff, including a legal assistant, litigation paralegal, and post-settlement resolution coordinator.

Physical Demands:

- The role requires talking and listening, with frequent standing, walking, and using hands to type or handle paperwork.
- May require sitting for long periods of time.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

- The position offers some flexibility in selecting a start time, but the employee must be available during core work hours.
- A 40-hour work week is expected, with occasional evening and weekend work as job duties demand.

Experience:

- 2 years of litigation experience required.

License/Certification:

- California License is required.
- A license in multiple states is preferred.

Salary Information:

- The salary for this position is $85,000 - $90,000 yearly, with potential for bonuses.
