Job Title: Tax Director - Private Companies
Job Responsibilities:
As a Tax Director within the company, you will play a crucial role in providing business advisory services to private companies. Your responsibilities will encompass assisting clients with audit, tax compliance, and planning to enhance their operational efficiency and allow them to concentrate on business strategies. You will experience the entire business life cycle of a private company, from inception to growth, maturity, and transition. Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting teams to innovate and improve work methodologies when necessary.
- Arranging and sponsoring assignments and experiences that help individuals achieve their potential and support their long-term goals.
- Identifying market gaps and creating value propositions.
- Seeking opportunities to scale efficiencies and implement new work methodologies across projects and environments.

Education and Experience Information:
- Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor Degree in Accounting.
- Minimum Years of Experience: 8 years.
- Certification(s) Required: CPA, Member of the Bar, or other tax, technology, or finance-specific credentials may qualify for this opportunity.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills:
Candidates should possess thought leader-level knowledge and demonstrate a proven record of success in assisting companies to understand and assess the tax impact of business operations and transactions across multiple jurisdictions. Preferred experience includes working within a global network of professional services firms, a law firm, or a corporate tax department of a multinational company. Key skills include:
- Deep understanding of tax compliance and consulting for various entities, such as corporations, partnerships, pass-through entities, and Subchapter S corporations.
- Technical expertise with ASC740.
- Ability to identify and address client needs while developing and sustaining client relationships.
- Proficiency in networking, negotiation, and persuasion to identify and sell potential new service opportunities.
- Competence in preparing and presenting complex written and verbal materials.
- Skills in defining resource requirements, project workflow, budgets, billing, and collection.
- Leadership abilities to generate a vision, establish direction, and motivate team members.
- Creating an atmosphere of trust, leveraging diverse views, coaching staff, and encouraging improvement and innovation.
Salary Information:
The salary range for the Tax Director position is $140,900 - $434,000, with eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus. For roles based in Maryland, this is the listed salary range. Actual compensation within this range will depend on the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and applicable employment laws.
