Job Title: General Liability Attorney

Job Responsibilities:
- Gather and review medical evidence and medical records.
- Take depositions of plaintiffs, physicians, medical experts, and other parties involved in the case.
- Conduct discovery processes to gather necessary information.
- Perform legal research to support case strategies and arguments.
- Stay current with developments in relevant laws and legal precedents.
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, opinions, and other legal documents.
- Litigate cases in Circuit Courts in Missouri, District Courts in Kansas, and Federal Courts.
- Represent clients' interests at hearings, trials, depositions, oral arguments, mediations, arbitrations, and other legal proceedings.
- Communicate with claims representatives to discuss case details and strategies.
- Monitor loss run reports for trends and increases, alerting management to any concerns.
- Assist in the investigation of accidents to gather evidence and assess liability.
- Manage costs effectively to reduce liability for clients.
- Compile and submit required reports to company management.
- Coordinate and attend claims reviews to assess case status and outcomes.
- Negotiate settlements on behalf of the insured to resolve claims efficiently.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Education and Experience Information:
- Juris Doctor (.) degree and proof of admission to the Kansas and Missouri bar.
- Candidates with a Uniform Bar Examination (UBE) score of 266 or higher from another state will be considered.
- Proven track record with a minimum of 2 years of experience in general liability and civil claims defense.
- Strong working knowledge of legal principles and practices.
- In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
- Thorough understanding of legal research techniques and legal terminology.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word required; experience with Perfect Law legal software preferred.
- Adherence to firm and client confidentiality requirements.

Salary Information:
- Salary is to be commensurate with experience.
