Summary:

They are seeking a highly experienced Corporate Counsel, Collections to provide legal oversight and strategic guidance for their debt collection activities. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of collections law, litigation, and regulatory compliance within the financial services sector. Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and drive collections strategy to maximize recovery while balancing risk and compliance
- Ensure all collection activities comply with federal, state, and local laws
- Negotiate repayment structures, settlements, and loan modifications with borrowers
- Oversee and manage collections-related litigation
- Manage relationships with third-party collection agencies and law firms
- Represent the organization in discussions with regulators
- Provide legal support and guidance to senior leadership and collections teams
- Monitor regulatory developments and advise on necessary changes to collection practices

Qualifications:

- 10+ years of relevant legal experience, preferably in collections or financial services
- Juris Doctorate and membership in good standing with a . state bar
- Expertise in commercial law, collections, and credit & lending regulations
- Strong knowledge of consumer protection laws
- Experience managing litigation and using legal case management software
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and time management skills
