Job Title: Tax Manager - Private Wealth
Job Responsibilities:
As a Tax Manager in the Private Wealth Tax practice, the individual will be responsible for performing high-level reviews of tax research related to individual, fiduciary, partnership, closely-held corporations, estate, and gift work papers and tax returns. The role involves preparing and leading client meetings on compliance and consulting projects focusing on tax planning opportunities and the tax implications of transactions for clients. Additional responsibilities include training, mentoring, and supervising new and experienced Tax Consultants and Tax Seniors. The Tax Manager will also take on lead client-contact roles, manage billing and profitability analysis for engagements, and participate in marketplace eminence building and pursuits.
Education and Experience Information:
Required qualifications for this position include:
- A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or another business-related field.
- Over 5 years of public accounting experience, with at least 3 years in investment management.
- One of the following accreditations is required:
- Licensed CPA in the state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA.
- If not CPA eligible, a Licensed attorney or Enrolled Agent.
- Certifications such as Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA) or Certified Financial Planner (CFP) are also recognized.
- Experience in reviewing partnership and/or trust documents, managing projects, including scheduling, budgeting, client correspondence, and billing.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, alongside excellent research and writing skills.
Preferred qualifications include:
- An advanced degree such as MST, MAcc, JD, or LLM.
- Prior experience with Big 4 or large CPA firms.
- Knowledge of fund accounting and general ledger accounting.
Salary Information:
The wage range for this role considers various factors, including skill sets, experience, training, licensure, and certifications, as well as other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is between $93,660 to $213,200. Additionally, the candidate may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, which depends on various factors including individual and organizational performance.
The role requires the ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model, requiring . Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2 – 3 days per week. There is also a need to travel up to 25% on average, based on the work, clients, and industries/sectors served.
