Blockchain and Digital Asset Tax Manager
Job Responsibilities:
As a Blockchain and Digital Asset Tax Manager, the primary responsibilities include managing teams that provide tax advisory and compliance services to a diverse range of clients. These clients include traditional enterprise companies that are starting to use and invest in cryptocurrency, companies launching decentralized networks, infrastructure companies involved in mining and staking, crypto exchanges, and asset managers expanding their portfolios to include crypto investments. Specific duties include:
- Leading clients in legal entity structuring, tax analysis of token flows, transaction analysis, revenue recognition, sourcing, and implementation of tax objectives.
- Collaborating with leaders and specialists in the taxation of cryptocurrency.
- Conducting detailed reviews of tax research, agreements, work papers, and tax filings.
- Coordinating and communicating with clients to understand their business, gather information, and provide tax-efficient solutions.
- Training, mentoring, and supervising tax staff.
- Leading client meetings on advisory and compliance projects related to tax planning opportunities and the tax implications of various transactions.
- Participating in marketplace eminence building and pursuits.
Education and Experience Information:
- A Bachelor's degree is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in one or more areas such as tax technical analysis of transactions and business models, corporate or partnership tax, mergers and acquisitions tax, international tax, financial instruments, tax controversy, and tax structuring.
- Experience in managing projects including scheduling, budgeting, client correspondence, and billing.
Required Accreditation:
- Licensed CPA in the state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA.
- If not CPA eligible, a licensed attorney or enrolled agent is required.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires in-person co-location 2-3 days per week.
- Ability to travel 20% on average, depending on the work and clients served.
Salary Information:
The wage range for this role is estimated to be between $98,350 and $223,990. This range takes into account various factors such as skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and other business needs. It is noted that it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range, as compensation decisions are based on the specifics of each case. Additionally, there may be eligibility for participation in a discretionary annual incentive program, which depends on individual and organizational performance.
