Job Title: Senior Associate/ Legal Director - Energy, Marine & Natural Resources

Job Responsibilities:

The candidate will serve as a core member of the global Energy, Marine, and Natural Resources team, primarily led by partners based in London. The role involves close collaboration with various practice areas, including corporate teams, marine litigation, and international offices. Responsibilities include:

- Managing shipbuilding contracts and EPCI contracts.
- Overseeing vessel/offshore asset sale and purchase transactions with some supervision.
- Handling project and asset financing.
- Managing bareboat charters and long-term time charter parties.
- Drafting and negotiating service agreements and operation and maintenance agreements.
- Providing first-class, commercially efficient advice across a broad range of complex offshore energy projects and floating assets, particularly in the LNG supply chain and midstream commercial shipping.
- Advising on the entire lifecycle of a floating asset, including EPCI/shipbuilding contracts, charter documents, operation and maintenance agreements, downstream terminal use, offtake and power purchase agreements, asset and project financing, and sale and leaseback financing.
- Acting for some of the world's largest companies involved in significant energy projects in the market, involving various offshore units and vessels such as offshore rigs, FLNGs, FSRUs, FPSOs, LNGCs, seismic mapping, subsea infrastructure vessels, and various commercial shipping assets.

Education and Experience Information:

- The candidate should ideally have 5-9 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in offshore energy/marine transactional work or transferable experience in the offshore and energy sectors.
- Experience or working knowledge in the LNG/oil and gas sectors is desirable.
- The candidate should exhibit excellent legal ability and initiative, strong technical skills, and confidence in managing and prioritizing a full and varied caseload.
- Strong communication skills and good attention to detail are essential.
- The Solicitors Act 1974 requires practising solicitors to have a practising certificate.
- All solicitors and registered European lawyers in legal practice or employment in England & Wales must comply with the Solicitors Regulation Authority's continuing professional development scheme (CPD Scheme).
