Law Student Volunteer, Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section
Job Responsibilities:
Legal interns in the Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section (CEOS) work directly with CEOS Trial Attorneys on a diverse array of assignments. Their responsibilities include conducting legal research and writing, as well as assisting in the investigation and prosecution of offenses related to child exploitation. This work supports CEOS and its forensic High Technology Investigative Unit (HTIU) in their mission to enforce federal child exploitation laws, prevent the exploitation of children, and improve overall enforcement strategies. Interns may also be involved in providing advice and training to other federal prosecutors, law enforcement personnel, and government officials, as well as participating in national and international meetings on training and policy development.
Education and Experience Information:
- Spring and fall applicants must be available to work at least 24 hours per week across at least three days for a minimum of ten weeks. This requirement is non-negotiable and must be confirmed with the applicant and their educational institution prior to an interview.
- The summer internship is full-time, requiring at least 32 hours across five days per week. This is a fully in-person internship.
- First-year law students are eligible to apply for the summer internship only.
- All offers are contingent upon obtaining a proper security clearance following a review conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Salary Information:
These positions are volunteer and uncompensated.
