Job Title: Corporate Counsel, Technical Infrastructure
Job Responsibilities:
- Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts that support the procurement and operation of the company's technical infrastructure. This encompasses agreements related to network and capacity acquisition, data center operations, and renewable energy and water procurement.
- Provide solution-oriented, practical legal advice on projects and business initiatives to facilitate infrastructure and energy projects.
- Respond promptly to legal requests from supervising lawyers, program managers, negotiators, and executives.
- Coordinate with internal legal teams on various matters related to technical infrastructure deals and projects.
- Focus on complex commercial transactions to build, procure, and operate the infrastructure that enables the company to deliver its Internet services, including data center acquisitions and operations, energy procurement, and renewable energy projects, as well as colocation and dark fiber networks globally.
- Perform legal analysis of non-standard issues or situations, complete complex legal assignments independently, and advise stakeholders on legal options and risks, such as deploying new infrastructure types in new jurisdictions.
- Promote legal compliance, risk mitigation, and execution based on a deep understanding of the broader legal and regulatory landscape.
- Assist with the continuous development of the team and its processes.
- Collaborate with different initiatives influencing all aspects of the business and work with colleagues from various parts of the company.
Education and Experience Information:
- Minimum qualifications include a JD, ., equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience.
- The candidate must be admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (., have registered in-house status) in the state where the position is located.
- 7 years of attorney-level experience in government, in-house, or at a law firm is required.
- Experience with data center or network infrastructure is essential.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial agreements for the build, procurement, and operation of technical infrastructure-related projects.
- Experience with data center, energy/renewable energy, colocation, dark fiber, and other technical infrastructure agreements.
- Ability to manage and execute numerous projects simultaneously under deadline pressure.
- Flexibility and willingness to work on a broad variety of matters, from complex to routine standard matters across different areas.
- Excellent social skills and a commitment to professionalism and working with others.
Salary Information:
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $239,000-$337,000, plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location, with individual pay determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
