Job Overview:
A leading law firm is seeking a highly qualified associate attorney with a minimum of two years of privacy law experience to join their growing Corporate Privacy & Cyber (Transactional) practice. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven attorney to work on cutting-edge data privacy and security matters, advising clients on compliance, negotiating privacy and security provisions in commercial agreements, and handling privacy aspects of corporate transactions, including M&A and IPOs. The ideal candidate will have a mix of experience with commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, and corporate transactional work, as well as a strong aptitude for technology.

Location:

  • Menlo Park, CA

Duties:

  • Advise clients on privacy laws, regulations, and data security compliance
  • Negotiate privacy and security provisions in commercial services agreements
  • Handle privacy and security aspects of corporate transactions (., M&A deals, IPOs)
  • Draft and review privacy-related clauses in corporate contracts
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address complex privacy and security issues
  • Proactively drive matters forward and manage client expectations

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in privacy law, with a focus on corporate transactions
  • Experience advising clients on privacy laws and regulatory compliance
  • Expertise in negotiating privacy and security provisions in commercial agreements
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to independently manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Strong understanding of privacy and security issues in corporate transactions
  • Familiarity with technology and online technologies (preferred)

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • CIPP certification (preferred but not required)

Skills:

  • Exceptional drafting and negotiation skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Expertise in privacy law and regulatory compliance
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Aptitude for technology and understanding of how online technologies work (preferred)
