Job Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of clients of various sizes and act as the main point of contact for both internal and external clients.
- Direct teams of tax professionals and assistants working on client projects.
- Understand and analyze . Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) rules relevant to the taxpayer.
- Manage risk and financial performance of engagements, including billing, collections, and project budgets.
- Advise clients and deliver high-quality tax services and advice.
- Assess tax impact on clients, develop tax arguments, and suggest plans to clients.
Additional Responsibilities for Senior Manager:
- Participate in and contribute to market and business activities outside of the firm while also providing direction and managing a team.
- Act as a coach and mentor to other tax professionals.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of five years of recent corporate or partnership tax experience in the financial services industry, specifically supporting alternative investments (investment partnerships).
- Previous experience as a tax manager with a public accounting firm.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university.
- Licensed CPA, JD/LLM, EA, or other approved credentials by KPMG.
- Proficiency in the taxation of corporations, consolidated entities, partnerships, and other flow-through entities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Additional Qualifications for Senior Manager:
- Minimum of eight years of recent experience as a tax senior manager in a public accounting firm, specifically supporting alternative investments (investment partnerships).
- Solid skills in reviewing 1065 tax returns, including Schedule K-1.
- Experience managing multiple client engagements and client service teams.
Salary Information:
- KPMG complies with all local/state regulations regarding displaying salary ranges.
- Salary range for this position in California is $92,600 - $186,800.
- Any offered salary is determined based on relevant factors such as skills, job responsibilities, prior experience, degrees, certifications, and market considerations.
