Job Title: Infrastructure Edge Strategy, Technical Program Manager (TPM), Strategy and Planning
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop strategies for growth in key locations for interconnect capacity.
- Establish business partnerships and technical approaches to improve resiliency, scalability, cost, and performance.
- Review and select data center architectures and new network designs.
- Create action plans to address short-term constraints cost-efficiently and initiate long-term growth optimization strategies.
- Set future strategies and roadmaps for new products.
- Identify priority locations to re-architect existing infrastructure approaches.
- Manage cross-functional input to inform potential partnerships and build solutions.
- Develop plans of record for scaling and growing infrastructure in various metro areas.
- Set schedules for infrastructure migrations and redesigns.

Technical Infrastructure Program Managers in the Internet Edge organization manage a wide range of responsibilities, including evolving routing policies, implementing traffic engineering solutions, growing the peering footprint, securing the "front door" from Internet threats, and architecting hardware platforms and network design for Amazon products that need global reach. They work with partner teams to improve and automate internet connectivity in areas like capacity delivery, configuration deployment, impairment detection, and traffic optimization. Their decisions, both daily and strategically, have significant impacts across all of Amazon's products.
About the Team:
The Internet Edge organization within AWS Networking is tasked with connecting Amazon to the Internet. With numerous connections to external networks worldwide, the team's mission is to provide top-tier performance, availability, security, and cost-efficiency in internet connectivity. This enhances various use cases like retail, video streaming, content delivery, DNS, AWS services, and consumer devices.
Education and Experience Information:
Basic Qualifications:
- Knowledge of best practices and emerging technologies related to infrastructure (network, data center, hardware, software).
- 3+ years of technical infrastructure management experience.
- Experience with different scenarios of infrastructure builds.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MS, MBA, JD, or other advanced degrees.
- Ability to develop business cases for new features or geographic expansions.
- Knowledge of network design principles and commercial models around network capacity procurement.
- Experience in influencing executive leadership.
- Ability to learn and master new technical subjects.
- Excellent writing ability.
- Experience working with international teams.
