A law firm seeks a Remote Associate Attorney licensed in Georgia to provide legal support for financial institution clients from a home-office setting. This role involves managing diverse civil matters under Georgia law, attending in-state hearings, and collaborating with a virtual team to ensure timely, ethical representation.
Duties
Advise and represent financial institution clients on matters governed by Georgia statutes
Conduct in-depth legal research to develop case strategies and draft memoranda
Prepare and review pleadings, motions, and other court filings in Superior, State, and Magistrate Courts of Georgia
Appear remotely or in person for hearings, depositions, and trials as required
Manage a caseload from intake through resolution, ensuring deadlines are met and clients are kept informed
Communicate legal rights, obligations, and potential outcomes to clients
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in Georgia law and relevant regulations
Coordinate with colleagues via digital collaboration tools to share documents, updates, and strategy notes
Requirements
Active, unrestricted license to practice law in Georgia
0–2 years of legal experience, preferably including civil litigation or representation of financial clients
Demonstrated proficiency with legal research platforms (Westlaw, LexisNexis, or equivalent)
Strong written advocacy skills for drafting motions, briefs, and correspondence
Excellent oral communication abilities for client calls, virtual meetings, and courtroom advocacy
Self-starter who can work independently in a remote environment while remaining responsive to team needs
High degree of professionalism, integrity, and adaptability under evolving workloads
Education
Juris Doctor (.) from an ABA-accredited law school
Certifications
Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia
Skills
Advanced legal research and analytical capabilities
Clear, persuasive legal writing for briefs, pleadings, and client communications
Proficient in courtroom advocacy, including virtual hearings and in-person appearances
Familiarity with virtual collaboration platforms (., Microsoft Teams, Zoom, document-sharing tools)
Time management and organizational skills to handle multiple matters simultaneously
Client-service orientation with the ability to explain complex legal issues in lay terms
