Job Title: Sales Operations Analyst 5
Job Responsibilities:
The Sales Operations Analyst 5 is tasked with the role of a Complex Contract Negotiator, responsible for the negotiation and management of intricate, high-value professional services and managed applications services contracts. The role requires a blend of legal expertise, business acumen, and strong negotiation skills to ensure agreements meet the needs of involved parties, minimize risks, and ensure compliance with business practices and company policies.
Key responsibilities include:
- Negotiating and drafting software agreements, engaging with customers to structure favorable terms, and drafting nonstandard contract terms to mitigate risks in complex contracts such as Professional Services Contracts, Cloud Service Agreements, and Partnership and Reseller Agreements.
- Engaging in financial selling and positioning by reviewing competitive prices, preparing TCO/ROI analysis, and assisting sales teams in pricing positioning with customers.
- Managing complex pricing by obtaining Bill of Materials, reviewing pricing elements, and making necessary adjustments to achieve target prices.
- Assessing and managing risks associated with contracts, advising stakeholders on potential risks, and suggesting modifications to protect organizational interests.
- Collaborating cross-functionally with internal teams such as Sales, Product Management, Solution Architect, and Delivery to ensure contractual terms align with product offerings and strategic objectives.
- Overseeing and managing the contract lifecycle from initial drafting to negotiation and final execution.
- Providing internal guidance to sales teams on understanding contract terms, including commercial, legal, and compliance considerations.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates for this role should have:
- At least 5+ years of experience negotiating and drafting complex technology agreements, preferably within the software, SaaS, or tech industries.
- Advanced knowledge of contract law, particularly related to software and technology contracts.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Certifications such as Certified Commercial Contracts Manager (CCCM), Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), or Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) are preferred.
- Deep familiarity with cloud computing, enterprise software deployment, privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA), and cloud service provider agreements.
- A Juris Doctor (JD) or advanced degree in Business (MBA) or Contract Management is preferred.
- Proven experience with licensing, SaaS agreements, software development contracts, and IP protection.
- Skills in risk assessment and the ability to draft contracts that minimize exposure to liabilities.
- Strong understanding of data privacy and security regulations (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, etc.) as they relate to SaaS and software.
Salary Information:
The hiring range for this position in the United States is between $97,500 to $199,500 per annum. Candidates may be eligible for bonus and equity. The company maintains broad salary ranges to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, as well as to reflect differing products, industries, and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on these factors as well as internal peer equity.
