A law firm seeks a Patent Litigation/Prosecution Attorney to join their growing team in Salt Lake City, Utah. This full-time position is ideal for an attorney with 2-7 years of experience in patent litigation and prosecution. The attorney will play a pivotal role in the firm’s expanding intellectual property practice, utilizing strong litigation and writing skills to manage a diverse caseload. Duties

  • Represent clients in patent litigation and prosecution matters, including preparation and filing of patents.
  • Manage all phases of patent litigation, including drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Conduct legal research and provide strategic counsel on patent-related issues.
  • Work closely with a team of attorneys and staff to build and execute case strategies.
  • Prepare and argue motions and represent clients in hearings and trials.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and provide ongoing legal advice.

Requirements

  • 2 to 7 years of experience in patent litigation and prosecution.
  • Proven ability to handle complex legal issues and manage a caseload independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in litigation and patent matters.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the relevant state Bar (Utah or eligibility to practice in Utah).
  • Registration with the . Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) preferred.

Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of patent law and intellectual property regulations.
  • Strong experience in patent litigation and prosecution, including drafting patent applications.
