Job Title: Tax Senior, Private Equity
Job Responsibilities:
As a Tax Senior in the Private Equity sector, the individual will be tasked with providing tax compliance and advisory services to clients within the investment management space. The responsibilities include performing detailed reviews of tax research, partnership work papers, allocations, and tax filings. The role requires coordination and communication with client contacts to gather necessary information for tax returns. Additionally, the Tax Senior will train, mentor, and supervise both new and experienced tax staff and attend required trainings. Leading client meetings focused on compliance and advisory projects related to tax planning opportunities and the tax implications of various transactions is also an essential part of the position.
Education and Experience Information:
Required qualifications for the role include a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or another business-related field. The candidate should have more than three years of experience in providing tax planning services or preparing and reviewing client work papers and income tax returns. Experience with investment management or partnership taxation, Subchapter K, partnership allocation methodologies, and the tax compliance process for investment partnerships is necessary. The role requires one of the following active accreditations: a licensed CPA in the state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA, or if not CPA eligible, a licensed attorney or Enrolled Agent. Certifications such as Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA) or Certified Financial Planner (CFP) are also relevant. The candidate should have the ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model, co-locating in person 2-3 days per week, and be able to travel up to 25%, on average, based on the work and clients served.
Preferred qualifications include an advanced degree such as a Masters of Tax, JD, or LLM, previous experience with a Big 4 firm or a large CPA firm, knowledge of fund accounting and general ledger accounting, and experience working in a fast-paced, team environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills are highly valued.
Salary Information:
The salary for this role takes into account a wide range of factors such as skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and other business needs. The estimated salary range is $66,570 to $151,580. It is noted that it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range, as compensation decisions depend on specific case circumstances. The individual may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, contingent on various factors including individual and organizational performance.
