Experience:
Law clerks should have excellent legal research and writing abilities, strong communication and team skills, a great work ethic and a good attitude. Specific schedules will be determined based upon the needs of the division and the clerk's class and extracurricular commitments, in coordination with the law clerk's supervising attorneys. Volunteer law clerks are expected to work no less than 15-20 hours per week. Law clerks may be eligible to receive course credit.

The Maryland Attorney General's Office is seeking law students to participate in their Law Clerk Program for the summer term. This program offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a wide range of legal fields and make a difference in communities across the state.

BRIEF OVERVIEW OF ATTORNEY GENERAL AGENCIES & DIVISIONS

The **Members Only** is the largest and finest law firm in the state of Maryland. Their work encompasses criminal investigations and prosecutions, securities and antitrust actions, environmental enforcement, civil litigation, appellate advocacy, and representation of the state in various legal arenas. As counselors and litigators for the agencies, boards, commissions, officials, and institutions of Maryland State Government, the Office has a distinguished history of successfully addressing complex legal issues.

The Law Clerk Program offers participants the opportunity to assist with legal research and writing, participate in witness and client interviews, and assist with litigation of claims in Maryland's trial, administrative, and appellate courts. This program also provides exposure to a variety of practice areas, including criminal law, civil enforcement, regulatory enforcement, and more.

Qualifications:

- Excellent legal research and writing abilities
- Strong communication and team skills
- Good work ethic and positive attitude
- Currently enrolled in law school
- GPA of or above
- Available to work at least 15-20 hours per week
