Job Overview
A prominent law firm is currently seeking a mid-level or senior associate to join its Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice across several California offices. The ideal candidate will have 4-8 years of complex commercial litigation experience, strong academic credentials, and a demonstrated ability to handle sophisticated legal matters. Exposure to insurance litigation is preferred but not required. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-stakes, complex disputes with an international team of dedicated lawyers.

Duties

  • Handle all aspects of commercial litigation, from inception through trials and appeals.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda for litigation matters.
  • Draft complex case analyses, briefs, pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents.
  • Conduct and respond to discovery, including document review, written discovery, and depositions.
  • Collaborate with clients, witnesses, experts, and opposing counsel.
  • Represent clients in court, including taking depositions and arguing motions.

Requirements

  • 4-8 years of experience in complex commercial litigation.
  • Strong analytical, legal writing, and case management skills.
  • Experience in insurance litigation is preferred.
  • Excellent oral advocacy skills, including deposition and court experience.
  • Ability to manage clients and adversaries directly, with proven ability to handle high-stakes litigation.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in California and in good standing.
  • Must submit a law school transcript and writing sample with application.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the California Bar and in good standing.
