Associate IP Counsel - Job Description

**Members Only** is currently seeking an Associate IP Counsel in 9 locations across the United States. This is a full-time position in the Corporate category, with the option to work remotely or fully onsite. The standard work schedule for this role is Monday-Friday, with the environmental conditions being an office setting.

The Associate IP Counsel will play a crucial role in supporting the company's bioproduction and biosciences initiatives by managing and developing robust patent portfolios in the areas of cell biology, cell and gene therapy, genome editing, and related fields. They will work closely with R&D partners and the IP Department to protect company IP and foster a culture of innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and manage patent portfolios in the areas of cell biology, cell and gene therapy, genome editing, and related fields.
- Review invention submissions with IP Review Boards to protect company IP and promote a culture of innovation.
- Advise collaborators on risk mitigation strategies, such as conducting freedom to operate analyses for new product launches.
- Drive revenue generation through commercial contract and licensing negotiations.
- Develop and implement focused IP strategies to support business and commercial goals.
- Educate key collaborators on protecting company assets.
- Participate in IP Department initiatives, promoting collaboration and teamwork.

Required Experience and Skills:

Education:

- Technical degree in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, genetics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Experience:

- 6+ years of experience in managing global patent portfolios in cell biology, cell and gene therapy, or genome editing.
- 3+ years of law firm experience required.
- Advanced degree or equivalent experience in a scientific or engineering field preferred.
- Registered to practice before the . Patent and Trademark Office.
- Licensed to practice law and in good standing in at least one . state.
