Job Title: Full-Time Staff Attorneys or Part-Time Private Attorneys
Job Responsibilities:
- Implement advocacy and community engagement strategies for the organization in Danville and Suffolk, as well as surrounding jurisdictions.
- Work collaboratively with a team of eight attorneys to address legal needs and support the local community.
- Participate in various legal aid initiatives to improve access to justice for residents in the designated areas.
- Engage with the community through outreach programs to raise awareness about legal rights and resources.
- Provide legal representation and counsel to clients in a variety of cases, ensuring the protection and advancement of their legal rights.
Education and Experience Information:
- Candidates should be admitted to practice law or be eligible for admission as an out-of-state attorney. Attorneys with two years of practice in other states can practice legal aid in Virginia without examination.
- Eligibility for the next bar examination is also acceptable.
- Spanish-speaking ability is considered a plus, enhancing communication with a diverse client base.
Salary Information:
- The salary for full-time positions is $66,280, with additional compensation dependent on experience.
- Part-time positions offer an equivalent hourly rate based on the full-time salary.
