Job Title: Law Reform Legal Intern - Fall 2025

Job Responsibilities:
The Law Reform Legal Intern position offers law school students the opportunity to engage in impactful work with the organization’s law reform units. These units are involved in impact litigation, policy reform, coalition building, and public education strategies to address systemic legal issues affecting the organization’s clients. Interns will participate in various aspects of the organization’s law reform work, which may include:

- Conducting legal and factual research
- Interviewing clients
- Participating in discovery and trial practice as opportunities arise
- Contributing to legal papers, policy memos, or legislative testimony
- Engaging in other tasks as needed by the assigned unit

Interns will be matched to specific units based on their preferences and the needs of the units.

Education and Experience Information:
- Applicants must be 2L or 3L law school students in good standing.
- Applicants must demonstrate an interest in working on issues affecting the rights of the organization’s clients, particularly those related to the unit(s) they prioritize.
- Applicants must possess excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
- The ability to analyze complex legal and policy issues is required.
- Applicants must have the initiative to see projects through to completion.
- A commitment to racial and social justice is essential.

Salary Information:
This is an intern position with no salary. However, interns who meet certain eligibility criteria have the opportunity to receive a $1,000 stipend from the Howard Rossbach fund. To qualify for this stipend, applicants must:

- Be enrolled as a degree-seeking undergraduate or graduate student at any accredited institution.
- Complete the Howard Rossbach Internship Stipend Form at the time of submitting their internship application.
- Be accepted to participate in an internship program at the organization.
- Demonstrate financial need and lack funding for their internship.
- Submit a statement reflecting their strong interest in working at the organization upon graduation.

The stipend will be awarded through a lottery system to 4-5 interns annually and will be treated as taxable income.
