A reputable law firm in Oxnard, CA, is seeking a skilled Workers' Compensation Attorney to handle a range of legal responsibilities related to the defense of workers' compensation cases. This role involves managing complex cases, providing strategic legal guidance, and representing clients in court. The ideal candidate should be an experienced legal professional with excellent negotiation and communication skills.

Duties:

  • Manage a full caseload of workers' compensation cases of varying complexity.
  • Develop and execute litigation strategies for each case.
  • Prepare and manage case budgets when necessary.
  • Conduct legal discovery and investigations.
  • Attend court hearings and make legal appearances.
  • Try cases, ensuring strong client representation.
  • Draft and file motions, briefs, legal correspondence, and other court documents.
  • Prepare cases for trial and manage all associated processes.
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with clients, opposing counsel, and other involved parties.
  • Negotiate settlements and provide legal counsel to clients.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the defense of workers' compensation cases.
  • Strong understanding of workers' compensation law and related legal processes.
  • Proven ability to manage a complex caseload effectively.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to communicate legal strategies.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a legal team.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active and in good standing with the California State Bar.

Certifications:

  • A California Bar License is required.
