Job Title: Complex Claim Specialist - Financial Institutions
Job Responsibilities:
- Recognize exposures and ensure reserving is appropriate and timely
- Evaluate coverage issues and risk transfer opportunities
- Conduct a thorough, independent investigation using available resources such as the internet, PACER, and experts to fill in any gaps in understanding
- Manage litigation through proper selection, planning, budgeting, and partnership with counsel
- Exhibit strong negotiation skills
- Effectively communicate exposures both internally and externally
- Formulate proper resolution strategy to ensure the best claim outcome
- Periodically travel to attend mediations, trials, and/or other related meetings
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Information:
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in the handling of professional liability claims
- Proficient computer skills required to navigate a paperless claim file system
- Possess a high level of technical claim skills and legal knowledge
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Ability to easily adapt to changing situations, requirements, and priorities
- Ability to effectively influence others without damaging relationships
- Skillful negotiator
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Good time management skills
