Job Overview
A boutique law firm with multiple office locations is seeking a Personal Injury and Civil Litigation Attorney to join its team in Encino, California. This is a full-time opportunity for an attorney who can independently manage and grow a personal injury and civil litigation caseload from inception through resolution. The role includes support from in-house staff and may also involve occasional support on depositions for the workers' compensation team. This position is ideal for a motivated attorney seeking greater responsibility and autonomy without the administrative burdens of running a solo practice.

Duties

  • Manage a full caseload of personal injury and civil litigation matters from start to finish

  • Supervise and lead the personal injury/civil litigation practice area

  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and related legal documents

  • Represent clients in depositions, hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations

  • Collaborate with internal teams and legal support staff

  • Assist with depositions in the workers' compensation department as needed

  • Contribute to business development and practice growth initiatives

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in personal injury and/or civil litigation

  • Demonstrated ability to manage cases independently

  • Willingness to take initiative and grow the practice area

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced legal environment with minimal supervision

  • Business development or client origination skills are a strong plus

  • Trial or employment law experience is a bonus but not required

Education

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in the State of California

  • In good standing with the California State Bar

Skills

  • Strong organizational and time management abilities

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal practice software
