Job Title: Tax Manager - Private Wealth
Job Responsibilities:
As a Tax Manager in the Private Wealth Tax practice at the company, the candidate will be responsible for performing high-level reviews of tax research related to individual, fiduciary, partnership, closely-held corporations, estate, and gift tax work papers and returns. The candidate will also prepare and lead client meetings on compliance and consulting projects, focusing on tax planning opportunities and the tax implications of transactions for clients. Additionally, the Tax Manager will be responsible for training, mentoring, and supervising new and experienced Tax Consultants and Tax Seniors. The role includes taking on lead client-contact roles, conducting billing and profitability analysis on engagements, and participating in marketplace eminence building and pursuits. The company’s Private Wealth team focuses on serving the ultra-affluent, including families with multigenerational wealth, entrepreneurs, family offices, and closely-held business owners. The team provides comprehensive, independent, and objective wealth transfer planning advice, assisting clients in making informed, strategic decisions related to their personal financial comfort, business and investment needs, family legacy, and charitable giving during their lifetime and through estate planning.
Education and Experience Information:
Required:
- Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model requiring US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2 – 3 days per week.
- Ability to travel up to 25% on average, based on work and client and industry/sector needs.
- 5+ years of public accounting experience, with at least 3 years in investment management.
- One of the following accreditations obtained:
- Licensed CPA in the state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA.
- If not CPA eligible: Licensed attorney or Enrolled Agent.
- Certifications such as Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA) or Certified Financial Planner (CFP).
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or other business-related field.
- Experience reviewing partnership and/or trust documents.
- Experience managing projects, including scheduling, budgeting, client correspondence, and billing.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Excellent research and writing skills.
Preferred:
- Advanced degree such as MST, MAcc, JD, or LLM.
- Prior experience with a Big 4 or large CPA firm.
- Knowledge of fund accounting and general ledger accounting.
Salary Information:
The wage range for this role takes into account various factors, including skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate is $93,660 to $213,200. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range; compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. The candidate may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, where awards depend on various factors, including individual and organizational performance.
