Job Title: Tax Senior Manager - Financial Services
Job Responsibilities:
- Research tax issues and filing requirements that impact tax compliance.
- Review tax returns (1065 & 1120) ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Conduct research on complex tax issues using internal revenue code, treasury regulations, and other relevant authorities/guidance.
- Serve as the Engagement Manager on specific client accounts, handling pre-engagement planning, execution, and final deliverable development.
- Identify opportunities to expand the scope of current engagements by recognizing current client needs and targeting client requirements.
- Provide regular performance feedback and deliver timely performance evaluations.
- Develop subordinates' technical and industry skills and encourage growth.
- Demonstrate initiative, vision, resourcefulness, creativity, and independent thinking.
Education and Experience Information:
- Bachelor's Degree required; Master's in Accounting/Taxation preferred.
- CPA, JD, or EA preferred.
- Minimum of 6 years of tax experience in a public accounting firm.
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Required experience in Financial Services Industry (Hedge Fund and/or Private Equity).
- Exceptional client service and communication skills with proven ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships.
- Strong tax research and writing skills.
- Proven technical skills with MS Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Preferred competence with tax compliance and research software such as GoSystems, CCH Axcess, CCH, RIA.
- Solid project management and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
Salary Information:
In California, the salary range for a Tax Senior Manager is $145,000 to $245,000. The salary is one component of the total rewards package, which includes a discretionary performance bonus, generous paid time off, expanded, and inclusive parental benefits, and access to best-in-class learning and development platforms.
Additional Information:
The position is considered hybrid, with an expectation for team members to create opportunities for in-person collaboration, usually averaging 3 days a week in the office.
