Job Title: Tax Consultant II - Credits & Incentives

Job Responsibilities:
As a Tax Consultant II within the Global Investment and Innovation Incentives (Gi3) practice, the primary responsibilities include identifying eligible federal credits and incentives (C&I) generating activities and managing the analysis and documentation of these opportunities. The role involves collaborating with various departments such as Tax, Advisory, Consulting, and Audit and Assurance to ensure comprehensive service delivery. The consultant will manage opportunities related to a range of federal C&I service offerings, including the Research and Development tax credit/deduction, New Markets Tax Credit, Qualified Opportunity Zones, and Sustainability and Renewable Energy tax credits. The job requires delivering value to clients by identifying opportunities and advising them on potential benefits and eligibility requirements. Building and maintaining strong internal and client relationships is crucial, along with leveraging technical skills to solve complex issues. The consultant will demonstrate sound judgment in evaluating scenarios involving credits and incentives, develop and mentor junior consultants, and ensure accurate and timely delivery of engagement deliverables such as presentation decks, executive summaries, credit calculations, completed tax forms, supporting files, memoranda, and IRS audit responses. Monitoring legislative and regulatory tax developments and presenting potential opportunities to assist clients is also a key responsibility.

Education and Experience Information:
The position requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, engineering, technology, or a related field. Candidates should have at least 1+ years of experience in a related field, with proven knowledge of R&D tax incentives or experience with New Markets Tax Credits, Qualified Opportunity Zones, or Renewable Energy tax credits. Strong analytical and research skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to collaborate and develop relationships are essential. Organizational and time management skills are important, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Candidates must have or be willing to obtain one of the following accreditations: Licensed CPA, Licensed Attorney, Enrolled Agent, Project Management Professional (PMP), Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA), or Professional Engineer. Preferred qualifications include an advanced degree such as a Master's of Tax, JD, or LLM, experience with tax technical research, Federal or State and Local C&I, sustainability technologies, or environmental sciences, and previous experience in a Big 4 or large CPA or law firm.

Salary Information:
The compensation for this role considers various factors such as skill sets, experience, training, licensure, and certifications, as well as business and organizational needs. The wage range for this position is estimated to be between $70,720 and $120,960. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range, as compensation decisions are dependent on the specific facts and circumstances of each case.
