Job Summary:
- Responsible for supporting AWS's worldwide data center expansion through land acquisitions, leases, and serviced licenses.
- Draft and negotiate a variety of real estate transactional documents.
- Provide legal counsel and contract interpretation to business team members.
- Manage outside counsel and advise internal business clients.
- Develop, implement, and manage process improvements.
- Resolve legal issues and handle pre-litigation disputes and inquiries.

Job Description:
- As a Corporate Counsel for Real Estate in AWS, you will support the company's data center expansion through land acquisitions, leases, and serviced licenses.
- You will be responsible for drafting and negotiating a variety of real estate transactional documents, including leases, purchase and sale agreements, easements, and development agreements.
- In addition, you will provide legal counsel and contract interpretation to business team members on a daily basis.
- You will also manage outside counsel and advise internal business clients.
- You will have the opportunity to develop, implement, and manage process improvements across the team.
- As part of your role, you will resolve legal issues that arise in existing commercial relationships and handle pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries.
- The successful candidate must have at least 5 years of legal experience and a Juris Doctor degree.
- Experience drafting and negotiating real estate transactional documents is required.
- This position offers the opportunity to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.

Experience and Qualifications:
- 5+ years of legal experience
- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
- Experience drafting and negotiating a variety of real estate transactional documents (. leases, lease amendments, purchase and sale agreements, easements, development agreements, co-ownership agreements etc.)
- Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work preferred
- Experience managing multiple projects and meeting aggressive deadlines
- Demonstrates sound judgment even in ambiguous situations
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team
- Strong analytical, written and oral communication, and client interaction skills
