Job Title: Entertainment Counsel

Job Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of the Entertainment Counsel at the company is to provide legal research and writing services specifically in the realm of entertainment law. The candidate will focus on transactional tasks related to production agreements, distribution agreements, corporate and non-profit formations, entertainment employment agreements, entertainment production agreements, and intellectual property protection. Responsibilities include:

- Assisting in rendering legal services to clients in the entertainment industry from the stages of pre-production to distribution.
- Reviewing work products to ensure compliance with all relevant laws pertaining to transactions.
- Providing legal advice to clients within the entertainment sector.
- Potentially increasing the scope of work significantly as the partnership with the company matures.

Education and Experience Information:
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following educational and experience requirements:

- Possession of a valid state bar admission and licensure is mandatory, with a preference for attorneys barred in California.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience practicing in entertainment law is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of entertainment law are crucial, particularly in areas such as entertainment production agreements, distribution agreements, employment agreements, union regulations, and intellectual property clearances and considerations.
- Candidates must exhibit excellent analytical, legal research, and drafting skills.
- Expert proficiency with Westlaw and/or Lexis legal research platforms is required.
- Additional experience in talent representation is considered a significant plus.
- Experience in entertainment litigation is also advantageous.
- Knowledge and experience in intellectual property laws and technology/data privacy laws are considered an asset.

Salary Information:
The role is structured as a contract position, and thus specific salary information is not provided within the job description. The position offers a flexible schedule and operates on a per-project basis. The role is initially for an independent contractor, but there is potential for the scope of employment to substantially increase and grow over time based on the progression of the partnership with the company.
