Job Title: Staff Attorney I - Kinship Care/Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS)

Job Responsibilities:
- Represent caregivers seeking guardianship for children in their care, utilizing strategies such as providing representation in contested and uncontested probate guardianship proceedings in Probate Court.
- Advocate for undocumented minors in Special Immigrant Juvenile Status matters in Probate Court, which includes conducting client intake, preparing cases for pro bono placement, and providing full representation in trial and appellate settings.
- Advocate for minors eligible for Special Immigrant Juvenile Status in various legal processes, including removal proceedings, adjustment of status, asylum relief, U-visas, T-visas, and applicable appellate venues.

Education and Experience Information:
- Must be an active member of the California State Bar in good standing or licensed in another state and eligible to practice under California Rule of Court (CRC) Rule .
- At least 1 year of experience in probate guardianship, SIJS-related advocacy, and removal defense is required.
- Proficiency in case management, substantive knowledge, outreach and education skills, and client advocacy is essential.
- Experience in providing person-centered, trauma-informed lawyering to undocumented minors or other vulnerable populations with a history of trauma is required.
- Proficiency in training and working with social workers, volunteer attorneys, and students is necessary.
- Spanish-language fluency is required.
- Candidates should demonstrate an understanding and commitment to the organization's mission of equal justice for all and its core values of leadership, community-based advocacy, and innovation.

Salary Information:
- The salary range for this position is $72, to $82,.
