Job Overview:
A prominent law firm in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a skilled Associate Attorney with 4 to 7 years of experience to join its Insurance & Reinsurance Litigation team. This opportunity involves handling intricate insurance disputes, policy interpretation, and high-stakes commercial litigation. The role offers substantial responsibility and the chance to collaborate with a nationally recognized legal team focusing on complex claims, reinsurance conflicts, and professional liability exposures.

Duties:

• Handle litigation matters involving professional liability, D&O, and general liability insurance policies

• Draft pleadings, legal memoranda, and dispositive motions

• Manage and conduct depositions and discovery, including motion practice

• Make court appearances appropriate to the level of experience

• Support strategic case planning and execution

• Assist in managing relationships with clients and external stakeholders

• Participate in client-facing meetings and contribute to business development activities

• Oversee or contribute to case files independently or within a team setting

Requirements:

• 4-7 years of relevant experience in insurance coverage and complex civil litigation

• Demonstrated litigation proficiency, including discovery, depositions, and court procedures

• Experience in commercial disputes involving insurance products and policyholder issues

• Comfort working autonomously while contributing to team collaboration

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in North Carolina, or ability to obtain promptly

Skills:

• Strong legal research and analytical skills

• Superior written and verbal communication abilities

• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management competencies

• Proven ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously
