As a Patent Principal Counsel at **Members Only**, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology and contribute to the protection of our innovative features and delivery models. This role requires a deep understanding of patent prosecution and the ability to partner closely with engineering teams to identify and protect our intellectual property. As a member of our legal and public policy team, you will play a critical role in helping to shape our patent strategy and protect our company's innovations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement patent portfolio strategy in collaboration with engineering teams and outside counsel.

• Provide practical intellectual property counseling on topics such as patents, publications, trade secrets, and open source.

• Work closely with engineers to identify and protect our innovations.

• Make filing decisions and oversee the prosecution of our patent assets.

• Partner with law firms to ensure high-quality and timely prosecution of patents.

• Stay up-to-date on industry trends and developments in patent law.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of patent strategy with business goals.

• Mentor and train junior attorneys and legal staff on patent prosecution best practices.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in patent prosecution, with at least 4+ years of in-house experience.

• Admission to the USPTO Bar and membership in good standing in at least one State Bar.

• Strong understanding of patent law and experience in building patent portfolios.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

• Curiosity and eagerness to learn about new technologies and how they work.

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Salary Information:

• Annual salary range: $400,000-630,000.

• No bonuses are offered; all compensation is in the form of salary or stock options.

• Employees can choose each year how much of their compensation they want in salary versus stock options.
