Job Title: Tax Senior - Sustainability, Climate & Equity - Renewable Energy

Job Responsibilities:
As a Tax Senior within the Sustainability, Climate, and Equity: Renewable Energy practice, the candidate will be responsible for advising clients on tax issues related to renewable energy projects. The role involves working with a team focused on renewable energy and sustainability, collaborating with colleagues across various departments including Tax, Advisory, Consulting, and Audit and Assurance. Key responsibilities include:

- Supporting renewable energy client engagements and contributing to the acquisition of new clients.
- Delivering value to clients by identifying opportunities and advising on potential benefits and eligibility under various IRC sections, such as the Investment Tax Credit, Production Tax Credit, Carbon Capture Tax Credit, and Clean Hydrogen Tax Credit.
- Preparing tax returns and providing advisory services related to the modeling and structuring of renewable energy tax equity structures, including partnership flips, sale-leaseback arrangements, and pass-through leases.
- Developing and maintaining strong internal and client relationships, demonstrating sound judgment, and ensuring quality-first evaluations of eligibility for various tax credits.
- Collaborating with colleagues from other technical specialties to develop processes and materials for benefit calculations.
- Executing workstreams in collaboration with member firms, including valuation studies, tax equity modeling, and life cycle assessment studies.
- Identifying potential issues and proposing solutions to leadership, as well as implementing process improvement strategies.
- Ensuring accurate and timely delivery of engagement deliverables, such as presentation decks, executive summaries, credit calculations, completed tax forms, supporting files, memoranda, and IRS audit responses.
- Monitoring legislative and regulatory tax developments and presenting potential opportunities to assist clients.
- Providing support for various internal initiatives and special tax-related projects.

Education and Experience Information:
Required:
- A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, law, business administration, economics, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in a related field.
- Ability to travel up to 25%, on average, based on the work and clients served.
- Demonstrated analytical and research skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, and proven leadership skills with strong judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent research, writing, presentation, and communication skills.
- One of the following active accreditations obtained, in process, or willing to obtain: Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA. If not CPA eligible: Licensed attorney, Enrolled Agent, or certifications such as Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA) or Certified Financial Planner (CFP).

Preferred:
- An advanced degree such as a Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with a demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple, competing priorities.
- Experience working in a virtual and/or global environment.
- A passion for leveraging technology and exploring new technology solutions.
- Previous experience with a Big 4 or large CPA or law firm.

Salary Information:
The wage range for this role is estimated to be between $66,570 and $151,580, taking into account various factors such as skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case, and it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range. Additionally, candidates may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, which depends on various factors, including individual and organizational performance.
