Job Overview:
A nationally recognized civil litigation law firm is seeking a driven and self-starting Associate Attorney to join its General Liability practice group in St. Louis, MO. This position is ideal for an attorney with at least one year of experience in general liability litigation who is looking to join a collaborative and dynamic legal team with strong growth potential.

Location:

  • St. Louis, Missouri

Duties:

  • Conduct file reviews and legal analysis of claims and causes of action

  • Perform extensive legal research and draft briefs, memoranda, pleadings, and appellate filings

  • Represent clients in court proceedings, arbitrations, and depositions

  • Prepare and respond to discovery requests

  • Retain and collaborate with expert witnesses

  • Assist with trial preparation and attend trials

  • Maintain an annual billable target of 1,950 hours

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year of legal experience, preferably in general liability litigation

  • Licensed to practice law in Missouri (additional state admissions a plus)

  • Strong litigation, research, and analytical skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

  • Demonstrated ability to manage workload independently while contributing to a team

  • Responsiveness to client and colleague communication

  • Professional demeanor and excellent client interaction skills

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active Missouri Bar license (admission in additional jurisdictions is a plus)

Skills:

  • Legal analysis and complex problem-solving

  • Written and oral advocacy

  • Discovery and trial preparation

  • Client communication and relationship management

  • Proficiency in legal research and drafting software
