Job Title: AVP, Team Manager - MPL

Job Responsibilities:
The AVP, Team Manager - MPL at the company is responsible for leading a team of claim professionals handling Miscellaneous Professional Liability (MPL) matters, including those in litigation. This role involves developing, managing, and motivating a high-performing team to achieve team objectives. Key responsibilities include:

- Providing managerial support, guidance, and mentorship to the assigned team.
- Driving employee engagement and individual development, ensuring team performance and growth.
- Driving Key Performance Indicators and adherence to best practices through audits.
- Reviewing and providing opinions on coverage analyses drafted by the team, including denials.
- Driving litigation management behaviors within the team.
- Identifying and providing solutions for key issues and trends to senior claims management.
- Allocating new incoming claims, reopened claims, and claims needing transfer due to severity.
- Acting as the escalation point for customers and brokers.
- Preparing for and participating in Roundtable presentations.
- Assisting the Director in preparing and presenting reserve analysis and claims trends.
- Taking an active role in the Claims/Underwriting/Actuarial feedback loop.
- Playing an active role in recruitment and onboarding.
- Providing feedback to the team, including participating fully in the performance management process.

Education and Experience Information:
- A minimum of 10 years of claims handling experience. A JD from an ABA-accredited law school may supplement claims handling experience.
- At least 5 years of Professional Liability claims experience, with a focus on Miscellaneous Professional Liability.
- At least 4 years of claims management experience, preferably in multi-jurisdictions.
- Demonstrated leadership and people management skills.
- Expert knowledge of claims handling practices, including coverage analysis, litigation management, and negotiation.
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong rapport-building and relationship effectiveness skills.

Additional Factors Considered:
- Subject matter expertise in claims handling.
- Demonstrated efforts to advance product innovation, improve claims processes, or develop a greater understanding of other aspects of the business through training, interactions with stakeholders, or relevant projects.
- Technical leadership ability to respond to challenges that may arise from direct reports or others inside and outside the organization.

Salary Information:
The annual base salary range for the AVP, Team Manager - MPL position is $150,000 - $185,000. This nationwide market range reflects a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary will be determined by factors including the scope, complexity, and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. Employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards as part of the comprehensive compensation and benefits program.
